The house is all painted up, the rotten boards have been replaced, the doors are painted, the entablature over the front door has been installed and we have new front porch lights and mailbox. Looking better all the time. The color is Pier.

Going Grey
The first coat of paint is on the front of the house! It's only the first coat and the house looks a little naked without the shutters (which are also in tatters and in need of a major overhaul and/or replaced) but so far so good! No more big yellow house though :(
Here's a reminder of the "before":

Primer Perfect
Here are the final primer pics. We've had lots of rotten boards replaced. Found bats in one of the walls...

Bathroom Sink Done
It's done! With working water and everything!
And might I remind you of the view when we started. No ceiling, no floor, just mold:

Bathroom Vanity
Here's the vanity that was purchased for the upstairs bathroom. There are 2 problems. The first is that we have to do some slicing and dicing to get it to sit back against the wall, due to that ridic (pre-existing) plumbing job. And the second is that the floor slopes about 2-3" so it needs leveled in a bad way.
Shades of Grey
With spring rolling around, we're ready to get serious about painting this house! Finally! The burning question is: What color?
It sits in a prominent place in the city and the yellow is kind of iconic at this point. White has also been kicked around. But we're finding that many Greek Revivals were traditionally painted grey to mimic the stone of the Greek temples. Here are a few examples we love.
And here's a grey-scale pic of our house, just to get an idea. At present it is yellow with green shutters.

Gas Leaks
What a fun way to kick off the spring! Just in time for our 2 year anniversary with the house the gas company informed us there are multiple leaks in the gas line - on both their side of things and ours. Gas has been off a few days now. No heat, no hot water. At least it's warming up outside. On the plus side, all those massive stumps in the front yard that have been needing to go are now history! Ya win some, ya lose some.
