I like the color of your metal roof. It matches pretty well with your sidings. Burnished Slate is also the color of the roof in our barn. I like it because it appears and shines brighter when the sun reflects to it, which creates a livelier atmosphere to the barn. Anyway, I think you also have to repaint the sidings because it is starting to show up some signs of aging although it still looks sturdy.
After seeing the damage on your roof in the ‘before’ photo, I think it’s just right that you had it replaced with a sturdier one. We just recently replaced the roof of our house. We used to have a shingle roof, but it got badly damaged when a hailstorm hit our area. So, my husband decided to go for a metal roof because it can last longer than asphalt shingles.
It is a good thing you posted some before and after photos of your roof for us to see the difference! The color really gave your house a whole new character, and it looks wonderful! I would hazard a guess that the roofer advised you to get rid of the chimney because of flashing issues. But seeing that there is no problem with leaving it, maybe it was a good decision after all.
It is alright to keep the chimneys as long as you use metal roof flashing around them. The flashings will help whisk the water away instead of letting it sit on the metal surface. Better check for leaks after a rain, okay?
It’s become somewhat of a rarity to find original online article content anymore. I’m very surprised to find this well-written impressive article. You have many logical points here that compelled me to consider your side.
