We spent the weekend scraping the old paint from the door and windows. The paint was in bad shape and a lot had peeled off. We're trying to weather-proof the woodwork outdoors before the weather gets bad to prevent any more water damage and moisture. The lower level windows in the front now have their first coat of primer. The doorway will get a coat later this week and we're working on getting the new portion above the door built.
The front of your house truly needed a total makeover. Removing and replacing the wood that are already rotten and can no longer be fixed by paint should be done. And if you want to keep your front door from rotting caused by rainwater, you must install an overhang or add a porch there. This is to keep your front house dry even during rainy days. Did you consider painting the sidings as well? ->Blair Construction L.L.C
ReplyDeleteIf you’re tight on the budget to renovate this house, why don’t you just refurbish some of the parts that can still be salvaged. Don’t try to replace everything, most especially if you believe it’s not necessary at all. Be thrifty! It could save hundreds of dollars that you could use for other priorities.
